Former AMC star welcomes new baby

Congratulations are in order for Denise Vasi, who just welcomed her first child into the world.

Former All My Children star Denise Vasi (ex-Randi Hubbard) and her husband, Anthony Mandler, are the proud new parents of a baby girl.

The couple welcomed daughter Lennox Mae Mandler into the world on Monday, February 2, and Vasi posted an Instagram message updating fans on her birthing experience.

"During my pregnancy many people questioned my choice to have a natural birth at home. However, for my husband & me there was never a question on how we wanted to experience the greatest gift life has to offer," she wrote. "What was important for US was that our child's birth was to be intimate and drug free. Was it exactly how we planned? No. Was it painful to go thru labor unmedicated? ABSOLUTELY!!! EXTREMELY!!! So much so, that there were moments I didn't think I could do it. BUT I DID! I trusted my body & my baby & it was SO worth it! I am grateful for my husband, my amazing doula & my mom who ‘kept my head in the game.'"

The Single Ladies actress continues: "Our daughter, Lennox Mae Mandler, was ‘born in the caul,' something that is extremely rare & special. She came with so much power, spirit, & intensity. She also came so fast that Daddy delivered his little girl. I can't begin to express how proud I am of you @amandler, you never skipped a beat & you remembered everything from those 20 hour classes I made you take. We did it! Our way!! I love you, Poo. Thank you guys for riding along & supporting our journey."

In other AMC baby news, Stephanie Gatschet (ex-Madison North, AMC; ex-Tammy Winslow, Guiding Light) -- who happens to be real-life besties with Vasi -- is pregnant and is due to give birth to her first child -- also a girl -- later this spring.
