Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest TV role is brim with some very Cruel Intentions

Former All My Children star Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) is set to headline NBC's Cruel Intentions pilot.

Nobody plays a bitch better than Sarah Michelle Gellar, as evidenced by her Emmy-winning stint as All My Children's Kendall Hart and her portrayal of the manipulative, two-faced cocaine-sniffer Kathryn Merteuil in the hit 1999 film Cruel Intentions. The chances of her resuming the role of Erica Kane's daughter are slim to none, but fans may be thrilled to learn she's set to reprise her other famous bad girl role in NBC's upcoming Cruel Intentions pilot.

Gellar took to social media to announce her involvement in the project, teasing: "That's right 'everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way' #kathrynmerteuil is back! I am happy to say that I will be joining [director Roger Kumble and executive producer Neal Moritz] (and @nbctv) on the new #Crueltv."

The pilot picks up 15 years after the movie, with cunning Kathryn married to wealthy Pascal Barrett and keeping busy vying for control of Valmont International and the soul of her nephew, Bash Casey (Taylor John Smith), the son of the late Sebastian Valmont and Annette Hargrove (previously played by Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon). Meanwhile, Bash discovers his late father's legacy in a hidden journal, which introduces him to a world of sex, money, power, and corruption he's never seen.

In addition to her AMC role, Gellar is known for her involvement with shows like The Crazy Ones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ringer, and Swan's Crossing.
