As Mark Pinter exits the Y&R canvas as dastardly Marcus Wheeler, the mystery surrounding the decade old murder of one of his campaign workers heats up. Noted horror film actor Tony Todd has been cast in the role of Gus Rogan, Leslie and Tyler Michaelson's (Angell Conwell and Redaric Williams) father.
Todd is excited to take on the challenge.
"They came to me with a character I just couldn't refuse," Todd told HorrorSociety.com. "The difference in working in the soap world, you have to come totally prepared and you're there and you basically have one take."
In the character's storyline, Gus will meet his children again for the first time since his conviction.
"I play a prisoner who's falsely accused of murdering his wife," Todd added.
Horror fans will recognize Todd for his roles in the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead and 1992's Candyman. The actor has several films in the can, including one called Dust of War and Dead of the Nite.
Todd, meanwhile, will begin airing on Y&R this spring as part of a 20-episode arc.
